International Day of People with Disabilities is honored annually on December 3rd to raise awareness and understanding about those who live with either visible and/or invisible mental and/or physical disabilities.
While we honor and appreciate the dedication and compassion of caregivers every day, the month of November is officially designated as a time to acknowledge the incredible role that family caregivers fulfill.
Family caregivers play a vital role in the overall health, wellness, and independence of those living with disabilities. Whether a family member or friend, the love and dedication family caregivers provide is essential to helping those within their care live a happier, more fulfilling life.
October 2022 is National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM), which is led by the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Disability Employment Policy. The real spirit of NDEAM is found in the ways we honor and participate in securing employment opportunities for people with disabilities across the United States. The theme for 2022 is "Disability: Part of the Equity Equation."
